Kim Jong-Un's Slain Half Brother Was Reportedly a CIA Informant

Malaysia's relations with North Korea have plummeted ever since the assassination of Kim Jong-nam (C) in February 2017.

The Divinely Perfect Destiny of Brilliant Comrade Kim Jong Un, by Washington Post Beijing Bureau Chief Anna Fifield.

In his final years, Kim Jong Nam reportedly lived a playboy lifestyle and developed a passion for gambling that was fueled by the many casinos in his adopted home of Macau, known as "Asia's Las Vegas". USA officials quickly placed the blame for the killing on North Korea.

Little else is known about what Kim Jong Un's older brother told the feds; however, the report did state he "was nearly certainly in contact with security services of other countries, particularly China's". Following his exit from North Korea, which appeared to be exile, Kim Jong-un took power after the death of their father, while his brother cultivated a relationship with China. The CIA declined to comment.

The Journal wrote that details of the late Kim's involvement with the Central Intelligence Agency "remain unclear", but it does mention that "former US officials and analysts" believed certain other countries including China may have considered him a potential successor to his half brother. "Kim Jong Nam likely had enough personal, intimate, and family information in his head to warrant an approach from CIA - or any intelligence agency - for debriefing purposes", said Darrell M. Blocker, a longtime CIA operative and now an ABC News contributor.

Kim Jong Un met US President Donald Trump for a historic first summit in Singapore last year but their second meeting in Hanoi in February this year collapsed when they failed to agree a deal on denuclearisation.

Fifield writes that on his last trip to Malaysia, Kim Jong Nam was seen on security footage in a hotel elevator "with an Asian-looking man who was reported to be an American intelligence agent".

The regime of North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un has been accused of carrying out hundreds of state-sanctioned executions.

"I just received a handsome letter from Kim Jong-un...it was a very personal, very warm, very nice letter - I appreciate it", stated President Trump".

Two women, told that they were taking part in a TV prank show, were offered $100 each to smear liquid on the victim's face. "Several former USA officials" told the Journal that intelligence agencies had deemed the exiled half brother, who lived in Macau, was unlikely to ever rise to power and was unlikely to have any useful information on his brother's doings (or, say, nuclear program).
