Kit Harington Checked Into Rehab For Stress And Alcohol

A Game of Thrones behind-the-scenes documentary - The Last Watch - showed that Kit broke down in tears, holding his hand to his mouth, when he read the moment that he killed Dany.

The 32-year-old British actor, who shot to fame for playing Jon Snow in the fantasy television series, reportedly checked himself into the luxury Prive-Swiss wellness retreat in CT weeks before the show's final episode this month.

"Kit has chose to utilize this break in his schedule as an opportunity to spend some time at a wellness retreat to work on some personal issues", Harington's rep told Deadline. But as the filming of the series came to an end, the British actor is said to have been "hit hard".

"He's in the clinic predominantly for stress and exhaustion and also alcohol", the source added."His wife, Rose [Leslie], is being extremely supportive".

Harington, who married his "Game of Thrones" co-star Rose Leslie in 2018, told Variety earlier this year that he had previously found it hard to deal with the fame and attention the show brought, calling it "terrifying". Right now, he needs peace and quiet'.

Elsewhere in the discussion, he said, "My darkest period was when the show seemed to become so much about Jon when he died and came back".

"I had a shaky time in my life around there - like I think a lot of people do in their 20s".

And in a later interview with Esquire, Harington admitted to having a "full-on breakdown" while shooting the show's final scenes.

He said: "The final day of shooting, I felt fine".
