Brady fakes retirement after joining Twitter

Brady, who turns 42 on August 3, used a picture from the Patriots' Super Bowl parade as part of his Twitter profile.

The team's response to Brady's tweet was priceless. Brady made history by winning his sixth Super Bowl ring Sunday night.

It appears you can put quarterback Tom Brady in that group, or at least he's really hoping to have Gronkowski back in the fold in 2019.

Last week, the NFL's official Instagram page posted a graphic of Tom Brady and Gronkowski and which players caught the most touchdowns from Brady in their New England career. Conveniently announcing his retirement April Fools' Day, Brady added that in his spare time, he'll be tweeting.

Some fans, who clearly weren't paying very close attention to the calendar, were a little anxious after they saw Brady's tweet.

Brady has racked up more than 30,000 followers since tweeting for the first time at 12:19 p.m.

Most aren't convinced that the 29-year-old has played his final snap for the New England Patriots.

Brady did post a touching tribute to his friend on Instagram last week, after Gronkowski announced his retirement, calling it "an honor and privilege" to have spent nine years with the 2010 second-round pick.
