Leaked Trump schedules shows 60% of time unstructured

Termed "Executive Time" by his former chief of staff John Kelley, the #ExecutiveTime hashtag was given new life on Sunday.

Since Nov. 7, which is the day after the 2018 midterm election, the president has spent around 297 hours in "Executive Time, ' to Axios" count of 51 private schedules.

Trump's schedule begins with hours of "Executive Time" and lists the location as the 'Oval Office, ' but the president is rarely in the Oval Office during that time, six sources with direct knowledge of the schedule have said.

There are even days where Executive Time overwhelming eats up the schedule. "If Trump's schedule leads to all this he should be applauded for his focus". Read all three month's worth here.

So during his executive time, Trump is not always just stewing in front of the television, but he is likely in and out of meetings and speaking with advisers.

The leaked schedules, which cover nearly every working day since the midterms on November 6, show Mr Trump spends about 60 per cent of his day in "executive time", according to Axios.

In response to Axios' analysis of the schedules, White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders emailed a statement reading, "While [Trump] spends much of his average day in scheduled meetings, events and calls, there is time to allow for a more creative environment that has helped make him the most productive President in modern history".

According to Axios, those same schedules revealed that the President "has had about 77 hours scheduled for meetings that include policy planning, legislative strategy and video recordings".

White House officials are expressing anger after an insider leaked months of President Donald Trump's private schedules.

Madeleine Westerhout, director of Oval Office operations, blasted the leak of the White House schedules, tweeting on Sunday, "What a disgraceful breach of trust to leak schedules".

In fact, Axios suggests that Mr Trump sometimes has meetings during executive time because he doesn't want West Wing staff to know about them and leak the details.

A senior White House official told Axios: "He's always calling people, talking to people". She agreed it's an "excessive" amount of time for a president's schedule to remain blank, though Behar took solace in that idea, saying that's less time for Trump to spend on running the country.

"Let's go back in Alexi and Jonathan's emails two years like Obama did, let's go through all their phone records, let's pull their bank records, let's pull their credit reports, let's look at their parents' emails like they did to [investigated Fox News reporter James] Rosen", he said.
