I have future without Manchester United: Jose Mourinho

Former United striker Solskjaer, named caretaker manager at Old Trafford this week following the sacking of Jose Mourinho, is gunning to make a statement on Saturday at Cardiff City, where he flopped as coach in 2014.

The 45-year-old Norwegian, a legendary former player at Old Trafford, has been appointed interim boss until the end of the season, replacing Jose Mourinho.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants Manchester United to "play without fear" but warned his players that they must embrace a team-first mentality.

"I like people, speak to people, engage with people, see them express themselves, wherever they work".

"I can't tell Mourinho to do anything different, he's got an unbelievable record in England.I think you'll see a different Jose next time, whatever country he's in".

Solskjaer's place in United's fables implies he is probably going to get a cheerful welcome when they play their next home match against Huddersfield Town on December 26. "Take risks. I want the players to be the kids that love to play football and go out in front of the best fans in the world." .

Mourinho lifted the Europa League, EFL Cup and Community Shield in his first year at the club before finishing runners-up in both the league and FA Cup, but things have unravelled since the start of his third campaign at the helm.

Mourinho was far from "The Special One" and he most definitely was not "The Happy One" during his two and a half seasons at United.

Maurico Pochettino, the Tottenham Hotspur manager, is understood to be United's preferred choice for the role, but Solskjaer, who is still under contract as coach of the Norwegian club, Molde, admitted that he would like to be considered.

United have turned to their former Norway global striker Solskjaer on a deal until the end of the season to inject some life into what has been a fraught campaign. "I had that at Crystal Palace and Queens Park Rangers and you can't really win, you have to leave", Warnock added. His departure comes after the "The Red Devils" made their worst start to a league season since 1990-91. "You looked forward to coming out of Old Trafford and you felt comfortable there and that's how you want the players to be".

"I've evaluated, reflected, made a few mistakes but if you don't make mistakes you're not going to learn".

"But I think he's experienced a lot from doing that". Things don't get much easier as they're facing Tottenham on Sunday, but the current state of the Premier League represents a great chance for Silva's side, one which they can't pass up. They've got nowhere to hide now, especially Paul Pogba.
