Kingdom Hearts III Leaks Making Rounds Online, Prompting Statement From Tetsuya Nomura

[Original Story] A new batch of screenshots is now available for Kingdom Hearts III, the new entry in the popular series launching on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next month in all regions.

While gameplay videos are being taken down pretty swiftly, Nomura has asked fans not to share them.

While a game leaking this far ahead of its release date is rare, Kingdom Hearts 3 finished development back in November, and it's plausible for copies of the game to end up in the wild with such a large window. That's doubly true for some of these screenshots from the upcoming KINGDOM HEARTS III, as they feature characters from the 2013 smash-hit film.

In the meantime, Kingdom Hearts fans at the game's subreddit have banned all discussion of the leaks.

Luckily, the current leaked footage only showcases the very start of the game, but since hard copies are also out on the streets, the entire plot will most certainly leak at some point as well. Sora tangles with some dastardly foes, both familiar and unfamiliar (unless you've been playing the spin-off games), in the latest Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer while taking some time out of his world-saving mission to do the dance from Tangled.

From the trailer, we know that the game touches on familiar themes like stolen hearts, worlds, destinies, and returning home. Much like previous screenshot batches, Square Enix were also kind enough to release the character art for most of the characters too, so we can see each of them all on their own. Bad guys are stealing people's hearts, and it's up to Sora, Donald Duck, and Goofy to go different Disney "kingdoms" and defeat bosses that will then save people's hearts.

Nomura is asking that everyone keep spoilers to themselves.

"We're sorry to see this caused concern amongst our fans who are excited for the release", he said.

But now, more than a month before the game is due out worldwide, physical retail copies of the full game have leaked to the public.

Hopefully, true fans will respect Nomura's wishes so that everyone can have a good experience.
