Huawei's Notchless Nova 4 Features a Massive 48MP Camera

"The Huawei Nova 4 comes with a 6.4" Full HD+ display (2310×1080 pixels) that comes with a slight chin at the bottom. A lot of phone manufacturers have been announcing new smartphones that use a hole-punch cutout on the display for the front facing camera instead of a notch. It also features a fingerprint sensor on the rear side of the phone.

Huawei Nova 4 comes in two variants and with the camera being the only difference between the two. While the high-end variant comes with 48MP + 16MP + 2MP triple camera setup on the rear, the standard variant sports 20MP + 16MP + 2MP triple rear camera setup. Nova 4 also now supports WeChat video for selfie objective.

Under the skin, the flagship device is powered by Kirin 980 processor, which is clubbed with 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal memory.

On the software front, the phone runs EMUI 9.0.1 based on Android 9 Pie out of the box. Apart from that, the Nova 4 also features a 25 MP front camera for selfies and video calling. Huawei was able to achieve the small hole thanks to a smaller camera aperture - also the smallest in the industry - measuring just 3.05mm in diameter. Pricing and availability outside of China have not been announced.

Furthermore, there is another scaled down variant of the Nova 4 which comes with a 20-megapixel, 16-megapixel, and 2-megapixel rear snappers as the differentiating factors.

The phone's triple rear camera is pretty impressive: It's a 48-megapixel, f/1.8 main shooter with an additional wide-angle, 16-megapixel, f/2.2 sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.

The Huawei Nova 4 will make its debut in China for 3,399 yuan (about £390), and a cheaper 3,099 yuan (£350) variant will be available with a lesser-specced 20MP main camera sensor. Powering the device could be a 3,750mAh battery with fast charging support.
