Bayern relish 'tough cookie' Liverpool in Champions League last 16

The UEFA Champions League Last 16 draw will take place today, and could bring about some massive clashes.

Is the Champions League last-16 draw available online? While Group A runners up Atletico Madrid will face Juventus.

Meanwhile holders Real Madrid will face four-times winners Ajax Amsterdam, who have reached the knockout stages for the first since 2005-06. "They [the team] are consistent now, we've got a settled side, it's not just 11 players, they have a squad capable now of doing really well". "We are looking forward to it", Bayern sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic said of the tie with Liverpool.

"They have a strong defence that plays well together, and they know how to play into the forwards with [Antoine] Griezmann and others".

Juventus spokesman Pavel Nedved said: 'Atletico have a very good squad and it will be a very hard game for us. And that this Bayern team is significantly weaker than previous editions.

It's fair to say we have some huge matches to look forward to in February and March next year.

Dortmund will face Tottenham and a trio of Bundesliga-versus-Premier League encounters will be completed by Schalke against Manchester City.

"It's always hard to play Manchester United", said PSG boss Thomas Tuchel.

The Bundesliga teams still involved in the competition are Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Schalke 04 while Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon are the Ligue 1 teams remaining. "German clubs are always very risky". Group winners will play the first leg away and the second leg at home. As such, they list Bayern games played at Football Arena Munich.

This hellish run of fixtures begins when United host PSG at Old Trafford on 12 February in the first leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie.

Perhaps the most memorable occasion of all came a decade later though, as the two met in the European Cup semi-final.
