Megyn Kelly's future at NBC uncertain after show comes to an end

The future of "Megyn Kelly Today" is in question after the host made offensive comments about blackface Halloween costumes earlier this week.

An official statement has yet to be made by the network.

On Thursday, the network pulled "Megyn Kelly Today", and ran a rerun of a show from August. Sources close to the situation told DailyMail that the Megyn Kelly Today host "is never coming back", and they explained that due to Kelly's "non-break deal", she stands to walk away with as much as $69 million, the remainder of her multi-year NBC contract.

"When I was a kid, that was okay as long as you were dressing up as like a character", Kelly said.

On Wednesday night, The Hollywood Reporter and Wall Street Journal reported Kelly's exit from the morning show is imminent, noting that she'd parted ways with her agent, who also represents her boss at NBC News, Noah Oppenheim. Kelly participated in NBC News' coverage of the confirmation hearings of Brett Kavanaugh and is slated to take part in NBC News' election-night coverage on November 6. I'm not shocked that Megyn Kelly, a 47-year-old white woman from a super white area, who used to work for Fox News, had a conversation about blackface with an all-white panel-an all-white panel that all looked at her like she had four heads as she tried to defend blackface.

The journalist, who got her start as an attorney, said that when she was "a little girl", born in IL and then raised in upstate NY, "I hated the non-traditional spelling because I wanted the monogrammed mugs, plaques, and other things with the name on them - always spelled 'Megan.' Now I like the unusual spelling, and some of our viewers tell me they've actually adopted it for their own little 'Megyns'".

"Given the circumstances, Megyn Kelly Today will be on tape the rest of the week", an NBC News spokeswoman said Thursday morning.

"Megyn Kelly Today" is not over yet. Kelly and Brunt then got into a huge fight and she wasn't sure if she ever wanted to see him again.

"'Megyn" is the spelling on my birth certificate", Kelly told the website said in 2009.

Before Brunt won her over, Kelly was married to Dr. Dan Kendall from 2001 to 2006.

Attorney Bryan Freedman is expected to meet with NBC executives "as soon as Friday", said Davidson Goldin, a spokesman for Kelly.

According to insider sources, Kelly is now negotiating with the NBC over a possible exit deal.

While People reports that Kelly hasn't been fired completely from NBC, The Daily Mailand Page Six both report that Kelly will no longer appear on the network.

"The fact is, she owes a bigger apology to folks of color around the county", he said.

The comments drew immediate backlash across social media and, perhaps more importantly, her bosses and colleagues at NBC.

"They're contacting the staff and reassigning everyone today".
