Tech giant unveils 3 new iPhone X versions, new Apple Watch

Apple also unveiled a new, bigger Series 4 Watch, that is created to detect heart problems and call carers or doctors when its wearer falls.

Apple announced two new additions to its iPhone line, the XS and the XS Max.

Three new iPhones are heading our way: the XS, XS Max, and the XR.

On that basis, the numbers you need to know are $1,249/£1,249 for the 256GB model and an eye-watering $1,449/£1,449 for the mighty 512GB iPhone XS Max.

Folks here could be forking out as much as S$2,349 - the price of a decked out gaming computer - to get the best iteration of Apple's latest iPhone.

Like the iPhone X, the XS has a 5.8-inch OLED screen, while the XS Max boasts a mammoth 6.5-inch OLED display.

iPhone Xs Max has a 3,300 mAh or 3,400 mAh battery which is huge. iPhone Xs will last 30 minutes more than previous iPhone and Xs Max will last one hour and 30 minutes more than the previous one.

Apple unveiled three new iPhones on Wednesday in a bid to bolster its spot in the premium smartphone market, along with an upgraded smartwatch that takes electrocardiograms and detects falls.

'The iPhone Xs Max price reflects the name.,' Twitter user @juhasaarinen wrote.

The iPhone XR also gets dualSIM support.

Philip Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing said, "iPhone Xs is packed with next-generation technologies and is a huge step forward for the future of the smartphone".

A12 Bionic, it is claimed, is 15% faster than A11 processor, 50% more efficient, and provides a 50% boost to graphics performance.

With LCD display, iPhone XR delivers lesser resolution 1792x828-pixel resolution at 326 ppi and 1400:1 contrast ratio.

The biggest aesthetic shakeup is that the iPhone XR will arrive in no less than six new technicolour finishes, including blue, yellow and red.

Apple iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max will be available in 64GB, 256GB and 512GB capacity models in space grey, silver and a new gold finish starting at Rs 99,900 and Rs 109,900, respectively, through Apple Authorised Resellers.

Apple's newest phones feature faster processors and better memory capacities than their predecessor. You still get the dual-camera setup on the back, but with larger sensors, and a new Smart HDR feature that should make photography much easier.

The phone, which comes with a 6.1-inch screen, will be made available to customers at the lower price of $749. Coming to the pricing, the Apple Watch Series 4 with GPS starts at $399 while the GPS + Cellular model is priced at $499.

As the size has grown, so too has the price, debuting at £269 in its first outing, and going as high as £1,499 for the highest spec on the new iPhone XS Max.

"Looking for the next wave, Apple is clearly expanding into augmented reality and wearables with the Apple Watch and AirPods wireless headphones", the firm said.
