West Indies thrash Afridi-led World XI by 72 runs

Rashid finished the match with two for 48, most expensive among the World XI bowlers.

The World XI won the toss and chose to bowl first, as the Hurricane Relief T20 prepared to get underway against West Indies at Lord's. The match took place at the Home of Cricket, Lord's.

Michael Bevan, one of the biggest cult heroes to have played for the Australian cricket team, played a blinder of an innings against Asia for the ICC World XI at Dhaka in April 2000.

In response, the World XI fell apart like a house of cards.

Morgan was the first name announced, followed by those of Afridi, his compatriot Shoaib Malik and Thisara Perera, the Sri Lanka T20I captain. Players like Shahid Afridi, Tamim Iqbal, Rashid Khan, Dinesh Karthik and many more famous cricketers.

However, former Pakistan captain Afridi found it a ideal opportunity - to make fun of the Afghan spinner as he repeated Rashid's gestures.

Karthik, Ronchi and Billings are all wicket-keeping candidates, while in McClenaghan, Curran and Mills, there's a good pace department.

With Samuel Badree on the other side, this one could well be the greatest exhibition of T20 leg-spin bowling ever.

Meanwhile, Carlos Brathwaite West Indies Squad will include Samuel Badree, Rayad Emrit, Andre Fletcher, Chris Gayle, Evin Lewis, Ashley Nurse, Keemo Paul, Rovman Powell, Denesh Ramdin, Andre Russel, Marlon Samuels, and Kesrick Williams.

Put in to bat, the West Indians rode on a solid 75-run opening stand between Chris Gayle (18) and Evin Lewis (58 from 26 balls; 4x5, 6x5) and vital contributions from Marlon Samuels, Dinesh Ramdin and Andre Russell to put a strong 199/4 in their 20 overs.

From 4-8 in just the fourth over there was no way back for the World XI, despite Thisara Perera's impressive half-century.

In vision that many cricket fans found hard to believe, Hussain can be seen just metres behind the slips commentating and occasionally interview players during the Hurricane Relief T20 Challenge match.
