Believe it! 76ers roll with Meek Mill past Heat in Game 5

However, until there is postseason glory to speak of, "the process" can't be deemed a success. That continued on Tuesday night as the Philadelphia 76ers took on the Miami Heat in Philadelphia. With the potentially decisive game being played at home-and with newly freed rapper Meek Mill in attendance - the timing couldn't have been better.

"Two years ago, we won 10 games", Embiid, who missed the first two seasons of his career due to injuries, told The Inquirer.

Prior to that there had been little to separate the two sides, with Miami holding the hosts 46-46 at halftime. Our team would evolve and all of a sudden he would have to try to play back in and then do this all with the scrutiny and noise with everything outside. That meant whoever got their act together first would likely go on to win the game.

But perhaps no moment of the series brought the emotional weight of the scene in the 76ers locker room after finishing off the Heat in round 1 of the playoffs.

Kelly Olynyk had 18 points off the bench to lead Miami. But entering the fourth, they led by 14 points, 80-66. J.J. Redick closed out the scoring with a pair of free throws with 25.8 seconds remaining to make the final score, 104-91.

Ben Simmons, with 14 points and 10 boards, manufactured a double-double as well.

"I was hired in 2013 and I sat with a few of the owners and we talked about the vision and what we hoped to build", Brown said.

"We played a style of play coach wanted", Whiteside said. "I think I remember talking to a couple people in our front office about maybe getting a first-round victory".

As Hassan Whiteside once again expressed his frustration at his lack of minutes in the Heat's final game of the season, Dwyane Wade had a message for the team's big man. He started in 36 of his 82 regular season games and averaged 12.3 points per game in the play-offs. Philadelphia is now off to the Eastern Conference Semifinals for the first time since 2012, with the Boston Celtics or Milwaukee Bucks awaiting them. They've surpassed those expectations - along with some other accomplishments, like their record-setting 16-game winning streak to close the season - now.

The Sixers move on to the second round, likely to face the Boston Celtics (who hold a 3-2 series lead over Milwaukee).

The Celtics can eliminate the Bucks in Thursday's game six in Milwaukee to set up a second round battle with the 76ers.
