Mark Hamill reveals 'Star Wars: Episode IX' ending George Lucas really wanted

Movie YouTube channel Screen Junkies has now released the latest "Honest Trailer" video and this time they take a crack at the polarizing movie called Star Wars: The Last Jedi. After all, some were still hoping the Jedi Master would survive until the third movie.

Luke did train Leia as a Jedi in the Expanded Universe, but this is the first confirmation it would've made it into the movies, along with the news that the ninth instalment would've seen him killed off - something Johnson ultimately (and controversially) chose to do in Episode VIII. The franchise has evolved beyond the films and the Extended Universe novels have given Leia three children who eventually became Force users. Kurtz revealed that Lucas originally didn't want Hamill's Luke and Carrie Fisher's Leia to be siblings, with the "you're definitely not related" reveal coming in the sixth movie (Return of the Jedi). The actor stated that General Organa was set to become a Jedi Knight after The Last Jedi.

In a new interview with IGN, Star Wars star Mark Hamill revealed he spoke to George Lucas about his intentions for Luke Skywalker after Return of the Jedi, and it was partially similar to Johnson's. The Batman: The Killing Joke voice actor had a odd response to the inquiry, sharing Lucas' original plans for the Jedi Master.

"I happen to know that George didn't kill Luke until the end of [Episode] 9, after he trained Leia".

Star Wars creator George Lucas originally planned a different fate for Luke Skywalker.

Mark Hamill will forever be associated with that iconic hero Luke Skywalker.

There's also a hilarious montage of Kylo Ren crying, if you need a break from the brutal review. Hopefully, Leia will be given a fitting conclusion in Star Wars 9.
