Gareth Bale Compares China Cup to Real Madrid Successes

Manchester United was linked with a move to bring Bale back to the Premier League in order to bolster Jose Mourinho's side to compete for the Premiership.

"To win any trophy is always good", Bale said ahead of Monday's China Cup final against Uruguay in Nanning.

Bale told reporters while on worldwide duty at the China Cup: "It's a great country with great people".

Gareth Bale has spoken for the first time about the "massive disappointment" of missing out on the World Cup with Wales but his presence in China shows renewed ambition to qualify four years from now.

"You want to make your whole country proud, so whether it's a tournament like we're in now, or it's the Euros or a World Cup, it's always important to win trophies".

"I think Uruguay is a very experienced team on and off the pitch".

However, Ryan Giggs' side will not be at the World Cup in Russian Federation and Bale admitted it's a big disappointment having done well at the EURO 2016.

Ryan Giggs has urged Gareth Bale to reject the temptation of a transfer to Manchester United and stay at Real Madrid.

"We feel confident about the game and we concentrate on ourselves and trying to play our best game". "Of course you would want to stay there".

"It's Real Madrid - there are only a handful of clubs who have got that aura", Giggs said (via The Guardian). I'm expecting a hard game, as always.

Bale has enjoyed plenty of success since moving to Madrid, winning three Champions League and a La Liga title.

Bale became Wales' all-time leading goalscorer with a hat-trick in the 6-0 win over hosts China on Thursday, which took him one clear of Ian Rush's old mark of 28. "Everything just comes with that little bit of experience".

For one thing, Edinson Cavani and Luis Suarez are a unsafe combination up front for Uruguay, who are treating the China Cup final as an important friendly before the World Cup.
