Cardinals Expected To Release Adrian Peterson

Peterson (neck), who will be released by the Cardinals on Monday, said he received a clean bill of health and intends to continue his career, Josina Anderson of ESPN reports.

Peterson told TMZ that his "dream scenario" was to sign with the Texans.

The thought of playing for the Houston Texans doesn't seem to be new for the future hall of fame running back. But coming back here where I work out every day. My family is here. My mom is here. Being around her a little more during this time would be even more a cherry on top.

He showed flashes of that brilliance with the Cardinals with 134 rushing yards in a game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and 159 rushing yards in a game against the San Francisco 49ers.

Star running back David Johnson is expected to be fully healthy for Arizona after suffering a season-ending wrist injury in Week 1.

Minnesota declined to pick up Peterson's option for the 2017 season and he signed a two-year contract with the Saints last April.

Obviously, Cowboys fans are likely hoping Dallas is close enough to home for Peterson to consider any offer from Jerry Jones.
