Prince Harry, Meghan Markle invite the public to their wedding

According to Kensington Palace, the total number of invitees is 2,640.

People reports that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, who are set to marry in May 2018, are inviting over 2,500 people to Windsor Castle to witness their big day.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not only invited their family and friends to their May 19 wedding, they've also asked a few thousand fans to attend.

"Markle would like their wedding to be shaped to allow members of the public to share in the joy and the fun of the day", the statement read.

No word yet on how the selection process will go for the 1200 people but ugh, lucky shits, whoever they are. Lord lieutenants are the queen's personal representatives in each county of the UK.

They cover nine separate regions: East Midlands and East of England, the North East and Yorkshire, North West England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, South East England, South West England, Wales, and the West Midlands. All those guests will have the honor of watching the bride and groom arrive and depart, but not all will be at the ceremony itself [VIDEO]. Harry and Markle have requested that those chosen represent a variety of ages and backgrounds and include young people who have displayed strong leadership and served their communities.

200 people from a range of charities and organisations with which Harry and Markle have a close association. She will become the patron of Kate and prince's charity The Royal Foundation.

The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby will marry the couple and the Rt Rev David Conner, Dean of Windsor, will conduct the service at the Castle's 15th century chapel.

St. George's Chapel has been the site of many royal weddings, although other members of Prince Harry's immediate family were Wednesday in London.

610 Windsor Castle community members, including residents of Windsor Castle and members of the St George's Chapel community.

The invited guests will be able to watch this procession. The ceremony itself will have a more exclusive guestlist.

'They hope this short journey will provide an opportunity for more people to come together around Windsor and to enjoy the atmosphere of this special day, ' a Kensington Palace spokesman previously said.
