Rain on the horizon as India bat

If there's one lesson the Proteas learnt from Heinrich Klaasen's whirlwind innings against India in the second T20 in Centurion on Wednesday, it's that you can set him steep targets.

The three-match T20 worldwide series between India and South Africa is now locked at 1-1 with the decider to be played on Saturday. The Proteas bounced back with a six-wicket win in Centurion.

India have never played a T20I at Newlands.

The tall and lanky South African all-rounder had bowled an excellent first over in the Indian innings as he troubled Dhawan a lot. They gained momentum with the last five overs but our batsmen showed composure.

That win came in 2016, when a spell of 4/21 from Imran Tahir helped restrict England to 134/8 from their allotted overs. It doesn't necessarily give the visitors an advantage. However, credit should go to Klaasen and Duminy who brought South Africa back into the match with a blazing 93-run stand for the third wicket which came off just 49 balls after they were down to 38 for 2 at one stage.

Duminy had named an unchanged eleven in the previous game, and it remains to be seen if they will bother breaking away from this consistency in the series-decider.

Shardul Thakur was included in this match in place of Jasprit Bumrah and he showed glimpses of his good line and length bowling, for which he is known for. The fact that there is a two-week gap before the tri-series begins in Sri Lanka might coerce it into this gamble. As far as captaincy is concerned, Kohli couldn't do much as his bowlers had a rare off day in the field. The team already clinched the ODI series and it was phenomenally done by the team. "Today they bowled 5-6 overs of short bowling to us early on and it really backfired on them".

"I faced Shaun von Berg at the Titans a lot as well".

If Bumrah does play, Jaydev Unadkat is likely to make way for him. The pitch at Supersport Park has played slow throughout this tour and the same is to be expected once more. However, with Chahals confidence hitting a bit low, Yadav could find himself in reckoning for this all-important game.

The hosts have made a decision to field an unchanged line-up. India has won the final match seven times and had three no results since.

Watch the second T20I between South Africa and India, live on Sky Sports Cricket from 3.55pm on Wednesday. If we do get proper action, expect the run-scoring to be at a notch below what was on display in the first T20I.

South Africa Playing 11 vs IND: JJ Smuts, Reeza Hendricks, Jean-Paul Duminy (C), David Miller, Farhaan Behardien, Heinrich Klaasen (w), Andile Phehlukwayo, Chris Morris, Dane Paterson, Junior Dala, Tabraiz Shamsi.
