Sony Might Have A 'Surprise' Launch At MWC 2018

Due out in stores "sometime in March", the XZ2 Compact will allegedly pack a 2870mAh battery, which the XZ2 should bump up to 3180mAh capacity.

So, there you have it: Sony's latest flagships are just a couple of days away from reveal, and when they arrive, they'll be sporting new full-screen displays.

Both these versions sport the same features with some caveats, and slightly differing in their screen dimensions, 5.7-inch for the XZ2 and 5.0 inch for the XZ2 Compact.

After watching virtually every other major phone manufacturer on the planet move on to bezel-less, all-screen phone designs, it appears that Sony is finally going to play catch-up in 2018.

The differences between the Xperia XZ2 and the Compact is that the XZ2 has 3D glass on both the front and back, with an aluminum frame in between. The Xperia XZ2 will come in a glossy black, silver, green and pink.

On the specifications side of the fence, both devices will launch on Android 8.0, and will be powered by the Snapdragon 845. We're not sure what kind of surprise Sony is talking about, unless they're referring to their flagship phone in which thanks to the leaks and rumors, isn't much of a surprise anymore. Both phones have Gorilla Glass 5 protecting their full-HD LCDs.

Sony's smartphone division's sprung a leak, as we've got an early-look at its upcoming Xperia phones: the Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact.

The flip side of Xperia XZ2 sports the same 19-megapixel, f/1.8 camera setup that is featured on the XZ Premium, thereby offering 4K HDR recording and can efficiently capture slow motion without affecting the HD resolution. The XZ2 compact will only support wired charging, and have a battery size of 2870 mAh. According to the mobile phone leaker, the company will unveil the Xperia XZ2 and Xperia XZ2 Compact at the event. The XZ2 model adds on to the high quality audio feature with a haptic feedback mechanism that adjusts and appropriates the vibrations to the speaker's sound.

These phones will officially be revealed on Sunday at MWC 2018, which is when we'll learn pricing and other details.
