AAP MLAs accused of assaulting Delhi Chief Secretary

Delhi Chief secretary Anshu Prakash's Medico Legal Certificate (MLC) report, submitted to the police, points at several injuries around the facial region.

The chief secretary of Delhi, Prakash, was allegedly assaulted by a few AAP MLAs on Monday night during an official meeting in presence of the chief minister and his deputy Manish Sisodia.

AAP's question came after Delhi Police detained its Deoli MLA Prakash Jarwal in connection with an alleged altercation between him and Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash. "The CS's spectacles also got broken", the senior IAS officer, who did not wish to be named, claimed. AAP Govt is unable to deliver-Beating of Chief Secretary by MLAs in front of CM is another low & is aimed to divert attention from Govt failures!

On the basis of Prakash's complaint, the Delhi Police had registered an FIR against Khan and Jarwal. The investigation is in its initial stage and there are no plans of questioning Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, said Additional DCP, North, Harendra Singh. AAP chief Spokesperson stated that there was an FIR by the minister as well as video evidence but no arrests. "There were no attempts to disperse the mob or control the situation", AAP leader Ashish Khetan told press here.

"It is shocking that such an incident has been stated to have occurred at the official residence of the Chief Minister, carried out by sitting MLAs", the statement read.

Even as AAP called the allegations "ludicrous" and said Prakash is making these claims at the behest of the BJP, Delhi government employees said they are going on strike to protest the alleged assault. The police said that two had started the attack by hitting blows on Prakash.

"But she has directed all the MLAs to maintain the dignity of the bureaucrats". "We express our solidarity with our colleagues in Delhi and join them in their demand for swift and exemplary action against the perpetrators", she added.
