The Future of Windows Could Be Passwordless

Microsoft is running a test version of a Windows 10 S that discards the use of conventional passwords altogether, opting for biometric and other authentication options instead. This is similar to other tools from AMD and Nvidia, but now it's built into Windows 10 and lets you choose between UWP apps and regular apps. Notification also includes a Connect button.

Tickets for the Build conference are likely to be sold out soon after Microsoft will open the registration window next week.

Microsoft explained that it makes more sense for developers focusing on fully-tailored UWP experience to build things from the ground up using native technologies. Microsoft says that "applications are always allowed to have the ultimate choice of which GPU to use", and thus you might still be able to / want to adjust preferences within some specific applications.

To get HDR video working on such a device Microsoft has included an experimental / early stage calibration tool which it hopes to include in Redstone 4. While there are some exciting improvements to the system graphics, the company also unveiled some privacy and security changes.

If you're on Windows 10 S, Microsoft is testing a completely password-free experience. Our best guess is that the password-less mode will be available when the rumored "S Mode" is activated.

Microsoft has released a new Windows 10 Preview build 17093 meant for fast ring members of the Windows Insiders program. The same also applies to Microsoft which prompted them to introduce Diagnostic data viewer in their last build.

Windows Security Improvements: Windows Defender has been renamed to Windows Security and can be found in Settings Update & Security. It is an interesting update for PC gamers and enthusiasts as it delivers quite a few new features with a focus on gaming and entertainment. Moreover, there is a new "Clutter-free printing" option that can remove ads and more for certain type of web pages. We'd guess that we don't have to wait that much longer until the update is out.
