Patriots TE Gronkowski's home burglarized during Super Bowl

Foxborough police responded to the MA residence of New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski over reports of a burglary Monday night.

A neighbor told Boston 25 News he came forward and spoke with police Tuesday morning after seeing coverage about the reported break-in.

Authorities arrived at Gronkowski's home around 6 p.m., which is located a short distance from Gillette Stadium.

The Boston Globe reported that multiple safes, and possibly guns, had been stolen from Gronkowski's home, citing a recording of a police dispatcher.

"Mr. Gronkowski was the victim of a residential burglary last night", Foxborough Police Chief William Baker told reporters. "While I was gone, my whole house got robbed while on the Super Bowl trip and I just got back".

"Doesn't matter whether you're Rob Gronkowski or anybody else, it's unpleasant to be a victim of this kind of crime", Baker said. Baker declined to comment on what had been stolen from the home.

The list of stolen items in the report was redacted with a black marker.

"I'll sit down in the next couple of weeks and see where I'm at", he said after the loss.

The police report said Gronkowksi and two roommates discovered the burglary downstairs, then went upstairs where their three bedrooms are located.

Patriots "All-World" tight end Rob Gronkowski is considering retirement to pursue a career in acting, according to a source. "We thought, 'Well maybe we should call police, ' and we said, 'Ah, what the heck, it can't be".

Gronkowski returned home Monday after participating in the Patriots' Super Bowl loss Sunday in Minneapolis.
