Trevor Noah: Hillary Clinton is on "the wrong side" of #MeToo

The New York Times published a story on Friday exposing Hillary Clinton for keeping one of her top advisers on staff after he sexually harassed a female staffer.

Clinton said she made a decision to demote him, dock his pay, separate him from his accuser and require him to seek counseling. "It was the wrong call". Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., about her call for former Senator Al Franken to resign after being publicly accused of sexual misconduct by eight different women.

He was sacked after several months for workplace issues, The Times says, including allegations that he harassed a young female aide, according to three people close to Correct the Record's management.

It wasn't Clinton's Grammy moment that raised Noah's ire; in fact, Noah began the segment (embedded below) by defending the former First Lady's appearance on the award show, in which she read an excerpt from Michael Wolff's Trump exposé Fire and Fury.

When asked if overruled her personally, Ms. Doyle responded, "I was overruled, yes".

Ms. O'Connell told colleagues that she was concerned that the young woman making the allegations should not be demoted when she was moved from Mr. Strider's supervision.

Noah then revealed that Strider went on to receive another job in politics, but was ultimately fired for harassing female staffers in similar ways.

"If I had to do it again, I wouldn't", she wrote on Facebook in a post that was shared more than 1,000 times in the first hour. However, this is Hillary Clinton, so hypocrisy is in her nature.

The other source said Clinton made clear that "we should explore other options" than firing Strider.

Hillary Clinton's record on sexual harassment is a pathetic one.

"To ensure a safe working environment, the campaign had a process to address complaints of misconduct or harassment", the statement said. "When matters arose, they were reviewed in accordance with these policies, and appropriate action was taken".

Mrs. Clinton claimed that taking away someone's livelihood is the most severe thing an employer can do, which disinclines her to firing people. "This complaint was no exception".

But Strider, who formerly worked for Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., was mostly absent from Clinton's campaign in 2016. Strider, a gregarious Southern Baptist, emailed Clinton daily Bible readings every morning during her 2008 campaign and served as a liaison of sorts to religious groups.

Bill Clinton, after repeatedly lying about his sexual relationship with White House intern Monica Lewinsky, was forced to admit it after evidence, the infamous blue dress, was presented. "But you can bet I'm asking myself these questions right now".

So the MeToo movement has really brought to light how pervasive sexual harassment of women is.

"I've been given second chances and I have given them to others", she explained.
