Ronda Rousey Makes Debut With WWE

The professional wrestling world was sent into a frenzy on Sunday night in Philadelphia, PA as Ronda Rousey emerged at the end of the 2018 WWE Royal Rumble.

Rousey appeared to roaring fans Sunday night after the women's Royal Rumble in Philadelphia, and pointed to a WrestleMania sign - scheduled for New Orleans in April - as Joan Jett's "Bad Reputation" blared through the arena. While her UFC career may be fading in the rearview mirror, Rousey's appearance at WWE's Royal Rumble opened a new chapter and put social media circles on meltdown!

"That's what everybody else seems to say", Rousey told immediately after her signing was announced. "When I first met with Triple H (the company's executive vice president), I told him, 'there are other things I can do with my time that'll make way more money, but I won't enjoy almost as much'".

Multiple sources have confirmed to Sporting News that WWE's next pay-per-view event, the Elimination Chamber on February 25 in Las Vegas, will include the first women's chamber match.

The "Rowdy" one is now a full-fledged WWE star. But they weren't the only ones surprised by the move, as a few people in her former workplace were shocked as well.

While there is no immediate word on any potential opponents for Rousey, it was clear from her appearance that she will be involved in this year's WrestleMania.

Rousey has appeared in WWE multiple times before, most notably at Wrestlemania 31 in an appearance alongside the Rock.

Rousey, who won an Olympic judo bronze medal in 2008, refused to specify whether she had formally retired from the UFC.

That defeat was her second on the bounce after suffering the first loss of her career to Holly Holm a year earlier. She and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson had confronted Stephanie McMahon and Triple H at the event. UFC President Dana White said Rousey will never fight again for the company. In fact, this is pretty special to the former UFC bantamweight champion.

Asuka was a worthy victor, and it made sense to continue building her up as an unstoppable force all the way through WrestleMania.
