India beat Australia by 100 runs in Group B

Kamlesh Nagarkoti and Shivam Mavi picked three wickets apiece to wrap up Australia's innings in the 43rd over itself.

Defending a total of 328, Indian pacers bowled exceptionally well and produced some great pace.

Jason Sangha's men fell short by a large margin in the second innings and apart from opening batsman Jack Edwards, no one crossed the 40-run mark for the Kangaroos. Zimbabwe is the other side in the four-team group. Aussies might have started well but the Indian bowlers pulled them back and won it for India.

Opener Prithvi Shah was the top scorer as he made 94 runs from 100 balls with the help of eight boundaries and two sixers while Manoj Kalra played a knock of 86 runs which included 12 fours and a maximum.

Having struck India's first six of the tournament, a flowing blade sending the ball over long on, but was nearly dismissed soon after, Shaw nicking to the keeper only to be reprieved when replays revealed that Will Sutherland had overstepped. The splendid top-order batting vindicated Shaw's decision to bat in their tournament opener.

BRIEF SCORESGroup A: South Africa 341-7 in 50 Overs (Raynard van Tonder 143, Jiveshan Pillay 62; Jasraj Kundi 2-49, Jayant Mepani 2-60) beat Kenya 172-7 in 50 Overs (Jasraj Kundi 41, Ankit Hirani 35 not out; Akhona Mnyaka 2-9, Kenan Smith 2-36) by 189 runs at Lincoln No. 3, Christchurch. Shubman Gill then hit a 54-ball 63 to take India past the 250-run mark.
