Bride battling breast cancer dies 18 hours after exchanging vows

A CT woman's dream came true when she married the love of her life, although the joy lasted just 18 hours.

Lying in a hospital bed, Heather Mosher wore a wig and a wedding dress.

Heather Mosher was diagnosed last December with breast cancer - the same day her then-boyfriend, Dave Mosher, proposed to her on a horse-and-carriage ride. Also reminds us how short life really is. "She struggled with her cancer through the traditional chemotherapy".

Mosher and Lindsay first met at a swing dance class in May 2015 and fell in love with each other.

On the same day they got engaged, doctors told Heather Mosher that a lump on her breast was cancerous.

'She didn't know I was going to propose that night, but I said to myself, she needs to know she's not going to go down this road alone, ' David said.

But just five days later, the doctors told Lindsay that the diagnosis was triple negative, one of the most aggressive forms of breast cancer.

Lindsay and Mosher thought the cancer was under control but in September 2017 doctors informed her that it had spread to her brain and lungs.

They realized that if they were to fulfill their dream of getting married, it would have to be soon, and in the hospital.

Eighteen hours later, Lindsay died.

'She was tough. Anyone else would have given up a long time ago.

'"As someone who wanted nothing more than to see my friend truly happy, I felt I had to capture these images, which by this point I knew were her final moments with us", Karas wrote on social media.

Heather Mosher's friend, Christina Karas, was one of her bridesmaids.

Dave and Heather Mosher were married in a chapel at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, surrounded by friends and family.

In the end, however, they were able to help Lindsay into her gown and then into the chapel where she met Mosher to exchange vows. Instead of preparing for a wedding at Plantsville Congregational Church, David Mosher will be attending his wife's funeral at the church, at the same time they were set to be married. "It was the hardest hour of my life", Mosher told InsideEdition.com. "When she raised her arms, she was at death's door, but she was joyful and exuberant".

"We were losing her as we were all standing there thinking to hold on to this, because it was it. ..."

"She was his great love and he was hers".

"Nobody thought she would've made it that far. She was able to fight till the end, I'm going to fight until my end".

The last words of Heather Mosher's life were spent telling her husband how much she loved him on their wedding day.
