Treasury Sect'y Steve Mnuchin Christmas is Horses

A report Saturday of a suspicious Christmas package outside the California home of U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin turned out to be a false alarm, police said.

The package was found outside of Mnuchin's next-door neighbor's house, police said.

The suspicious package, which was signed from "the American people", was filled with horse manure.

The LAPD said the Secret Service took over the investigation.

The package also included a Christmas card with negative comments about President Donald Trump and the new USA tax law signed by Trump last week.

Mnuchin, who KNBC said was not home when the package was discovered, is a former Goldman Sachs Group Inc executive and Hollywood film financier.

According to police, the package was wrapped like a present.

His comments came after he and and his wife, Scottish actress Louise Linton, visited the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to see some of the first dollar bills marked with Mnuchin's name.

The large box, covered in holiday wrapping paper and addressed to Mnuchin, was left outside the home of one of his Bel Air neighbors Saturday evening, ABC 7 News reported.
