Trump Said Haitian Immigrants "All Have AIDS" & It Gets Even Worse

Donald Trump lashed out at his national security team over immigrants entering the United States in a June meeting, The New York Times reported Saturday afternoon.

Reacting to a document that said 15,000 Haitians had received visas to the U.S.in 2017, Trump grumbled, "They all have AIDS".

In an Oval Office meeting in June, Trump was quoted in the report to have said that Nigerians refused to "go back to their huts" after experiencing America.

The claim was contained in a report by the New York Times.

The president lamented that more than 2,500 recipients were from Afghanistan, expressing concerns about terrorism.

Mr. Trump has pushed controversial immigration policies since becoming American president in January.

John Kelly, the current White House chief of staff, was then the secretary of homeland security and asked that the room be cleared of staff, but aides could still hear the president yelling from behind the closed door. But as the president continued, Mr. Kelly and Mr. Miller turned their ire on Mr. Tillerson, blaming him for the influx of foreigners and prompting the secretary of state to throw up his arms in frustration.

The Times reported the president also complained about the 40,000 people who had come from Nigeria, saying they would never "go back to their huts" in Africa after being in the US, based on two officials' accounts.

White House squeeze secretary Sarah Sanders issued an announcement impacting the paper and denying that Trump had made the remarks.

'General Kelly, General McMaster, Secretary Tillerson, Secretary Nielsen and all other senior staff actually in the meeting deny these outrageous claims. The explosive and disparaging remarks about immigrants attributed to the president were sourced to a pair of unnamed officials, one who the Times said was present in the meeting, and another who was briefed about the comments by a second attendee. "It's both sad and telling The New York Times would print the lies of their anonymous "sources" anyway".

According the sources, when Trump learned 15,000 people from Haiti had been granted United States visas, he remarked: "They all have AIDS".

Mr Trump has tried to crack down on immigration into the U.S., citing terrorism fears, but has been stymied by the courts.
