Female-led 'Ocean's 8' drops first official trailer

Looking at the trailer, Ocean's 8 will once again be a comedy. While we can argue the dubious merits of studios treating female-led films like gimmicks and rather than just like, you know, normal movies, it's still great to see girl gangs kicking ass on screen.

She explained, "But we don't want it to be just for women".

Andrew Gruttadaro, an editor at The Ringer, said that the release of the Ocean's 8 trailer could make "dudes stop complaining" about the latest Star Wars film.

With Nancy Sinatra's "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'" providing the soundtrack, the trailer gives fans their first look at director Gary Ross' film, in which a determined Bullock - playing the estranged sister of Clooney's Danny Ocean - is released from prison, only to set about assembling an all-star team to pull off a $150 million robbery.

Details are scarce thus far, but EW reports Debbie and co. aim to steal a "priceless" necklace from a celebrity attendee at the Met Gala.

The re-boot boasts a ton of star power from its roster of headliners: Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter and Awkwafina.

Supporting players include Damian Lewis, Richard Ermitage and James Corden; while Matt Damon and Carl Reiner reprise their roles from the previous Ocean's Trilogy in cameo appearances.

Anna Wintour, Alexander Wang, Maria Sharapova, Derek Blasberg, Lauren Santo Domingo, Zayn Malik, Kendall Jenner, Katie Holmes, Olivia Munn, Adriana Lima, Hailey Baldwin, Serena Williams, Kylie Jenner and Zac Posen will also pop up.

Ocean's 8 hits theaters June 8, 2018.
