Mega Man X Collection and Mega Man 11 Announced

Indeed, even Mega Man afficionados will likely find some trivia and development stories that they haven't heard before.

The Mega Man X series will be rereleased on current consoles and PC. Unlike Mega Man 9 and 10, 11 will eschew the throwback pixel art look in favor of an original 2.5D look. Based on the trailer, you'll take control of Mega Man as you undertake hard platforming challenges, fight your way through legions of evil robots and (probably) confront much larger, tougher Robot Master bosses. Luckily, humanity has Mega Man X and his partner, Zero, fighting on their side.

Capcom have announced Mega Man 11, a new mainline entry in the iconic action adventure series.

Mega Man 11 is due out in late 2018. You can check out a first trailer for the game, below.

So...it looks like the 30th anniversary celebration livestream was worth it to some extent after all.

What do you think of the Mega Max X Series? And there've been sequels up to fairly recently, with Mega Man 10, a downloadable, 8-bit retro throwback dropping in 2010. Capcom said that the first collection will also get an update that allows players to rewind gameplay if they make a mistake.

This feature will also roll out to existing owners of the game on PlayStation 4 system, Xbox One, and PC. Either way, though, it's the most love the series has gotten since X8 came out for the PS2 more than a decade ago. Fans can stay tuned all throughout 2018 for more news on all the games announced today and other celebratory activities going on during the 30 anniversary year.
