President Trump is again criticizing CNN - and the network is tweeting back

Director Michael Hayden on Saturday night ripped President Trump for attacking CNN and praising Fox News, calling it "an outrageous assault" on the First Amendment.

Following that tweet, and TIME claiming the president was "incorrect," CNN senior media correspondent Brian Stelter noted that Trump doesn't want to speak to outlets that he feels aren't friendly with him anymore. "The outside world does not see the truth from them!" the president tweeted. "Trump drew criticism when he tweeted out a fake video of himself taking down CNN back in July with the hashtag "#FraudNewsCNN". And some on Twitter didn't think Trump's tweet was an accident. As Thomas Jefferson said, it "cannot be limited without being lost".

Trump's tweet-thanks to Maga Pill came three days into the president's Thanksgiving holiday weekend in Florida, a getaway stuffed with golf and media rumination.

His latest tweet comes about a week after the Department of Justice sued to block AT&T's proposed $85-billion purchase of Time Warner Inc., which owns CNN.

The president's tweet Saturday is not the first time he's spoken about CNN in terms of the global community.

CNN more adheres to the policy of the democratic party and often criticized trump during the race.

Sure, Fox News might still be the most watched news network in America - but the responses to the president's attack on CNN show that many deeply respect the worldwide reporting delivered by the news channel.
