Corker, who is the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, has defended Tillerson from criticism by Trump, and said president's words were damaging attempts by the U.S's top diplomat to find a diplomatic solution to the North Korea crisis.
Tillerson's comments come after reports indicated that Trump's July 20 meeting at the Pentagon was a "difficult and tense" session.
The US ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley pushed the same argument during appearances on Sunday talk shows, telling ABC's This Week that reevaluating the Iran deal "sends the flawless message to North Korea, which is, we're not going to engage in a bad deal".
