Manchester City owners consider legal action over 'financial doping' comments

"We carried out this study of the accounts - income streams, sponsorship, etc. PSG has a lot more from sponsorship than Manchester United". We can not accept this.

"By contrast, Mr. Tebas' statements are ill-informed and in parts pure fiction".

PSG more than doubled the world record transfer fee when they signed Neymar last month, before adding Kylian Mbappe on loan from Monaco, a deal that is expected to be made permanent for £165.7m in 2018.

It read: "There will be an investigation following the formal complaint filed by LaLiga asking UEFA to inspect Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City FC for violation of financial fair play regulations".

"Recently, Manchester City and Paris Saint-German, before that Chelsea, they have money that has not been created [by them] and have been able to get an advantage through this", he told reporters.

"Additionally, La Liga calls on UEFA to open a similar investigation into Man City", the association of Spain's top football teams said in its statement.

The Club reaffirms that it has always operated in total transparency with the European football bodies, with which it has developed trusted relationships over the last six years, demonstrating its upmost respect for the Institution.

He said: "If I remember correctly, PSG and Man City were sanctioned, but then the sanction was somehow reduced in some unusual agreement that was not made public".

"As you would expect, Manchester City Football Club and the City Football Group are seeking appropriate legal counsel and will act accordingly on that advice".

But he made it clear that in his opinion, the spirit of FFP was being broken by the mindboggling deals being done by PSG and City, who spent around €700 million between them in the summer. "If we don't control this, the smaller leagues will not grow and the whole industry will be destructured". They have agreed on sponsorships that are above market price.

"If the Spanish clubs have received financial help from the state, directly or indirectly, they need to be punished, because that is not correct". PSG paid Barcelona €222 million for Neymar but it's never ending. This is not football's market price.

Sky Sports News reported earlier on Monday that City were confident they would not face an investigation and that the club said they were not close to breaching FFP rules and would have had enough room in their budget to sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in the summer.

PSG are laughing at FFP, aren't they?
