Microsoft Announces 'Project Scorpio' Edition Xbox One X

Two months after taking the wraps off of the Xbox One X at E3, Microsoft has officially opened preorders for what it is calling "the world's most powerful console". The leak also claims a special Xbox-One "Day One" project Scorpio edition will be limited, but available for initial release orders.

If you happen to have missed the whole show you can catch it by visiting Xbox's YouTube channel.

Microsoft's Corporate Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer at Xbox, Mike Nichols, described the Scorpio Edition as a celebration of the console's heritage, as the Scorpio name will live on as the name of the console's chipset.

Considering the millions of people who play Minecraft it's frankly surprising that Microsoft has taken this long to honour the game with a special version of its flagship games console. The controller matches the system and the pack comes with a vertical stand for the system as well. The Project Scorpio Edition preorders will be available until supplies run out, so you'd better get in there as fast as you can. With 40% more power than any other console, experience immersive true 4K gaming. The $499 super-powered Xbox One games console, capable of running games at up to 4K native resolution, launches worldwide on November 7. It's worth noting that this pricing is in line with the now offered 500GB and 1TB Xbox One S bundles, which normally cost $350 and $450, respectively. Assassin's Creed Origins is launching for Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4 on October 27, 2017.

Middle-earth and Minecraft Xbox One S bundles coming this year. Each includes the game plus bonus in-game items Legendary Champions War Party and the Epic Sword of Dominion. In the box is a creeper themed controller, but there is an optional pig theme controller for purchase separately.

At gamescom 2017, Xbox also debuted new game trailers, which you can watch below! However, it has put the console on pre-order from today and says there's only a limited number available.
