Comic-Con 2017: Geoff Johns has started writing Wonder Woman 2 script

To nobody's surprise, Wonder Woman 2 has been officially confirmed. Wonder Woman was a journey of a young girl that despite all the odds stands up to the challenge and saves the world from the wrath of Ares showing us that that it is not the male super heroes that can do most of the savings. It's also beaten the previous record holder for biggest opening weekend by a female director.

Sure, Wonder Woman still had to prove that it could break from DC's dour universe, but anyone who attended last year's convention knew that Wonder Woman was the most-anticipated movie of this year just based on the decibel of the screams when that trailer played.

After the breathtaking response of the fans and its success in the box office a sequel of Wonder Woman was announced on Saturday's comic con.

Gal Gadot is not that voice. Gal teased her fans when she shared an instagram post with co-stars Ben Affleck, Ray Fisher, and Ezra Miller before heading for Comic-con.

Patty Jenkins, the director, spoke to Entertainment Tonight and let slip the little plan she has in place. It doesn't matter that the woman at the centre of the movie is her own independent self. Her performance as Imperator Furiosa in Mad Max: Fury Road showed that she is more than capable of playing a fierce warrior.

But even though we didn't see her strap on the leather in Wonder Woman, we can still look forward to seeing the South African actress kick butt in Atomic Blonde.

"Wonder Woman" came out in early June (read our review) and has made $385 million so far, likely landing as the top box-office hit of the summer.
