Venus Williams found at fault in fatal auto crash

Tennis player Venus Williams would be responsible for a road accident which is concluded by the death of a 78 year-old man.

The other driver reportedly had broken bones but was ultimately OK, but her 78-year-old husband was taken to the ICU with head trauma and died 14 days later.

Police said Williams, a seven-time Grand Slam victor, was at fault because she violated the other driver's right of way.

According to the report, Linda Barson told police she was traveling west in the right lane and approaching an intersection, slowing for a traffic light.

According to Barson's wife, who was also in the vehicle and injured, Williams came into the intersection without warning and was T-boned by Barson's SUV.

The police report states that there was no evidence Williams was under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and nor do they believe she was distracted by an electronic device. She claims there was not enough time to stop, which resulted in her T-boning Williams' vehicle.

In September 2009 she was stopped in a 2009 Mercedes Benz by the Jupiter Police Department and cited for driving with no proof of her insurance.

Per an official police report obtained by TMZ Sports, the accident occurred June 9 in Palm Beach Gardens.

Her license was suspended on May 8, 2013, for failure to pay fines.

Williams is seeded 10th for Wimbledon, which begins Monday in London.
