Noel Gallagher is donating song royalties to Manchester fund

However, it seems that Noel has redeemed himself for any perceived slight by doing something really nice and donating any recent royalties from 'Don't Look Back in Anger' to the victims' fund.

It is worth noting that the song has left a special echo in Manchester, as it is the hometown of Noel Gallagher and his brother Liam, the former lead singer of "Oasis", who also sang at the concert.

The Gallagher brother's famous rival has made headlines since the 90s and we're very glad to see this feud is now getting headlines for a positive reason.

Oasis' 1995 hit Don't Look Back In Anger, written by Noel, became an unofficial anthem for the victims of the Manchester bombing after people attending a memorial service broke into a spontaneous rendition of the song following a minute's silence for the victims.

Simon Kelner of the i newspaper in the United Kingdom claims that the older Gallagher brother will be donating "all profits from sales of the song since the bombing to the We Love Manchester campaign".

Liam Gallagher is gearing up to the release of his As You Were album, and has said he's up for a chart battle with his brother Noel.

The row over Noel's absence from the gig was initiated by Liam, who took to Twitter to apologise for his brother failing to appear at the event.

The mother of Liam's daughter Molly, Lisa Moorish, later revealed that Noel had been with them during the concert. Some reports suggested that Noel was not in Manchester because of a "longstanding family trip" that had been planned before the concert.

A statement for Noel last week said: "Sadly, Noel will not be at the concert this weekend". That was before any gig was mentioned. "But he insisted it was done on the proviso that it was not publicised".

"Thank you @noelgallagher for giving your blessing and encouragement to play don't look back in anger and live forever on Sunday", he posted on the band's official account.
