New arrest in 'full tilt' Manchester attack investigation

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said, "Today, May 28, 2017, officers investigating the attack at the Manchester Arena have executed a warrant at an address in Moss Side". Another brother and Abedi's father have been detained in Libya.

Bomber Salman Abedi, a 22-year-old Briton of Libyan descent, killed 22 people and himself on May 22 at an Ariana Grande concert.

'Until the operation is complete, we can't be entirely sure that it is closed'.

The threat assessment has now been returned to the level it was at prior to the attack in Manchester, northwest England, and means soldiers who have been assisting police would be withdrawn from Britain's streets from midnight on Monday.

On Sunday, a 25-year-old man was arrested in Manchester on suspicion of terror offenses in the Old Trafford area.

The police hope the release to the public of the images taken from closed circuit (CCTV) cameras may help trace more witnesses who spotted the terrorist before his deadly mission that also left 116 others injured.

The attack on Monday, which has been claimed by the Islamic State jihadist group, targeted concertgoers at the end of a show by USA teen pop idol Ariana Grande. The straps of a knapsack are visible on his shoulders.

Prime Minister Theresa May said developments in the investigation into the bombing meant that intelligence experts had made a decision to lower the threat level from its highest rating "critical", meaning an attack could be imminent, to "severe".
