BBC reporter: United Kingdom interior minister "confident" Manchester attack leaks will end

Prime Minister Theresa May who too seems to be disturbed with the leaks said that she would confront President Donald Trump over leaks. May will use a meeting of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation leaders in Brussels on Thursday to speak with Trump about the leaks, according to a United Kingdom government official with knowledge of her plans.

The decision to stop sharing police information with US agencies was an extraordinary step as Britain sees the United States as its closest ally on security and intelligence.

"His friend, also of Libyan descent, died after being stabbed by British youths in Manchester in May 2016, the source said on condition of anonymity".

White House officials have said the leaked details of that meeting by intelligence officials are similarly under investigation. May said at the time Britain would continue to share intelligence with Washington.

With Britain's terrorism threat level at "critical", meaning a new attack may be imminent, police are working around the clock to try to deter another atrocity.

Police are now investigating his links in the country, which is home to many militant Islamist groups. Twenty-three remained under close care.

President Trump, who is in Brussels today for meetings with North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, has released a statement slamming leaks from USA intelligence agencies surrounding the suicide bombing at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester.

The Manchester attack has caused revulsion across the world because it targeted children and teenagers, who make up the bulk of Grande's fan base.

Eight men have now been detained in connection with Monday's attack.

Police in Dusseldorf later confirmed that Abedi transited through the airport but remained in a secure zone. Meanwhile, Libyan militia this week arrested Salman Abedi's younger brother Hashim and his father Ramadan, who returned to Libya from Britain in 2011 following the ouster of dictator Muammar Gadhafi.

The intelligence agencies are racing to find other parts of a "network" that helped the suicide attacker, Salman Abedi, who had recently visited his family in Libya.

"I think it's pretty disgusting", said Scott Lightfoot, a Manchester resident, speaking outside a train station in the city.

The newspaper noted the times Abedi had been reported. It said the database was built around a longstanding U.S.

Greater Manchester Police Constable Ian Hopkins said Abedi has not been formally named by the coroner.

A tweet by the Associated Press cited US officials as the news service's source.
