NBA Draft prospect Josh Jackson must attend anger management courses per agreement

Kansas basketball star Josh Jackson was involved in an ugly altercation in February this year.

Despite recent speculation that he might forgo the remaining three seasons of his college career to turn pro, Jackson gave Turgeon the same good news that Trimble did a year ago.

But even as Jackson held off on hiring representation to preserve his amateurism and leave the door open for a possible return to College Park, becoming the latest underclassmen to test the NBA's revamped draft rules that were introduced a year ago, some scouts and analysts believed he could have been a possible second-round pick later in the June 22 draft.

As a freshman, Jackson didn't need long to demonstrate his potential.

Jackson was in Toronto to work out for the Raptors on Tuesday, on the eve of the deadline for early-entry candidates to withdraw.

Jackson was a five-star recruit who was the No. 1 player in the class of 2016 coming out of high school.

Jackson averaged 10.9 points while playing 24.9 minutes per game. Jackson pleaded not guilty in the incident but had to file a diversion agreement, which are conditions that must be fulfilled for charges to be dropped.

Wojnarowski reported that Jackson, who declared for the June 22 National Basketball Association draft and has hired an agent, suffered the injury while at Duke but played through it. He will have plenty of help in returning sophomore guards Anthony Cowan Jr. and Kevin Huerter.

Of course, there are far worse things than kicking a vehicle, and most people are guilty of making a few poor decisions while in college.

In a statement released by Maryland on Wednesday, Jackson said his experience in the combine "will be beneficial to my long-term development".

Coach Bill Self suspended Jackson for the opening game of the Big 12 Tournament because of the incident. "I can't wait to get back to College Park and begin workouts with my teammates this summer".
