IPL 2017: MS Dhoni's Hit Sends Rohit Sharma Tumbling Into RPS Dug-Out

Pune had started off a bit slowly, with Mumbai picking up a couple of early wickets, but Ajinkya Rahane (56) stabilized the innings with Manoj Tiwary (58), to give Mahendra Singh Dhoni (40) the base to launch them to a competitive target of 162-4.

Speaking after the match, Sundar said: "I love this challenge".

Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians, who faced a defeat in its last game against Rising Pune Supergiants, will be awaiting the result of today's game as it will face the victor to make way for the finals.

"We were struggling until the 18th, 19th and 20th over where MS (Dhoni) bhai played outstanding shots", Tiwary said in a post-match press conference.

Mumbai weren't well served by their own Kiwi pace bowler Mitchell McClenaghan, who has enjoyed a prolific campaign but was expensive on Tuesday, taking 1-46 off four overs.

"It was a big day and big players stepped up". It was not easy against Bumrah but he showed why he is such a talented player.

Chasing 163 might not have looked like the toughest of tasks for a strong Mumbai batting line-up, but Sundar was on hand to take the crucial scalps of Rohit Sharma, Ambati Rayudu, and Kieron Pollard. I just thought up front with their left handers and with the long boundary and breeze, I bowled Nabi. I love bowling in the first six overs only having two fielders outside the ring.

After a stellar performance of 3 for 37 in Rising Pune Supergiant's (RPS) 20-run victory in Qualifier 1 of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017, pacer Shardul Thakur stated that beating Mumbai Indians (MI) in Mumbai was special. "But for us, it is very important to forget what has happened today and treat next game as a semifinal", concluded Parthiv. "Obviously, we were in control but I won't say just because those two overs we lost the game", said the wicketkeeper-batsman. "It's been good this year, three times we've beaten them now".

However, after a whirlwind knock that helped his team edge past the Mumbai Indians, Dhoni's biggest critics turned into his fans, led by Harsh Goenka himself, who congratulated the 35-year-old and had words of praise reserved for him.
