Black Adam Will Get a Surprise DCEU Introduction, Superman Fight Promised

Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson has revealed who he'd like to see play the role of legendary superhero Shazam.

The Shazam! film is set to be split into two movies, with one focusing on Johnson's Black Adam and the other focusing on the former, although both characters will appear in both projects.

"It's definitely going to happen, sure", he said confirming a solo movie for the arch-nemesis of Shazam in the line-up. It's an exciting time right now for everyone at DC because they are in a process now where they are building out their DC universe really nicely. Time will ultimately tell, but don't be too surprised if the actor ends up squaring off against Dwayne Johnson in Black Adam. We haven't heard anything about him filming, but it's always possible they filmed something in secret for the movie, even as a post credits scene that the DC movies have strayed away from thus far. Next in line is Justice League, and the most viable option (in my opinion) to debut him.

One more thing to note from the interview was when he was asked about a putting a potential "smackdown on Superman".

It's still going to be a little while before we see Black Adam on the big screen, but at least we know that the pieces are being put in place for a big introduction. "We're excited for what the future brings", he wrote before adding a slew of hashtags. On that last point, Johnson has once again said it's "in the cards", which would be an interesting way to introduce him. To which he smiles and replies: "One fine day".

Johnson hinted that fans may be surprised by how Black Adam will be introduced to the DC film canon. Something we, as DC fans have all been waiting for for a very long time. The studio, with Warner Bros, is trying to jump back with Wonder Woman, releasing on June 2, Justice League on November 17, The Flash and Aquaman next year.
