Instagram introduces Snapchat-like AR selfie filters

They're all easy to use and will jazz up your photos.

Like Snap's service, Facebook's Stories will disappear 24 hours after users post them. You can now add eight different face filters do your Instagram stories, with just a few taps on your camera app within Instagram.

(Web Desk) - Facebook-owned Instagram has made a decision to launch its own Snapchat-style reality face filters. The decorations include a gold crown and a pair of bunny ears reminiscent of Snapchat's offerings, as well as thick-rimmed glasses. What this means is that it filter detects your face, and will move around as you move.

To use these face filters, simply click the face icon on the bottom right-hand corner. As you might have guessed, this lets you play videos backwards. TechCrunch spotted a test that Instagram is doing around place-based stories, so when you tap a location tag that someone has added to their Story, you can see other Stories added to that location. Now, Instagram just added face filters to its update. This option is located as a separate button below the app's camera shutter button, next to Boomerang and Hands-Free mode. "Experiment with some magic tricks of your own and defy the laws of physics wherever you are", Instagram notes on the same blog, explaining its Rewind feature.

It's no secret that Instagram and Snapchat have gone back and forth for a while, but Snapchat needs to make some serious alterations.

Instagram is also introducing an eraser brush that allows you to erase things you've drawn in your stories or even play around with removing color from sections of your drawings.

To use the tool first take a photo or video. It follows the launch of Snapchat's own eraser earlier this month that lets you remove objects from a photo by tapping the scissors tool. The final look will be a cool new addition to your stories.
